The first Superman comics were published in the 1938, and the copyright was renewed in 1965, so DC's rights in those works will not expire until 2034.
Our game, Free Superman features frames from Fleisher Studios Superman animated shorts produced in the 1940s. The copyright to the shorts passed into the Public Domain in the 1969 because DC's predecessor, National Comics, failed to renew the copyright.
